The Attributes of God, Part II, by Mitch McDonald. Cost: Free. Room S205.

Moses, being in the vicinity of the presence of Almighty God, asked Him “please show me your glory” (Ex. 33:18). What an unimaginable petition; and yet God’s response is even wilder. He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you…” (v.19, emphasis added). Throughout this course we will seek to understand what all might be contained in the goodness and greatness of our God.

The divine attributes teach us Who God is, what He’s like, and what He’s made of. We are to love Him with all of our heart, soul, and mind (Mt. 22:37). But how could we ever with any intensity love who we do not know? We will aim to do just that, to know God; not in full but to the measure which He has commanded and equipped us to, that we may love Him more fully.

Religions, Cults and the Occult, by Adam Landers.

Cost: Free. Room S202.

This class is for those wanting to understand the trends in our culture and around the world where certain religions dominate, helping you discern truth and guard your faith. When you understand a religion’s origins and teachings, you are in a better position to know how to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as you take the good news to those in false religions. Prepare yourself and your family to answer questions and share the gospel with non-Christian friends and skeptics, and defend against the rise of religions, cults and the occult in our culture.

Bible Study: The Books of Romans and Psalms, by Dr. George Foust

Cost: Free. Room S201

This class is an ongoing Bible study, currently in Romans, with a verse-by-verse walkthrough of the wonderful truths Paul recorded for us in this great book. When the Romans study is completed, likely by mid February, we will begin a chapter-by-chapter study of the book of Psalms, the Hebrew Hymnbook.

Women’s Study: Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted, by Priscilla Shirer. Led by Allison Troutman and Hillary Brickhouse. Cost: $15. Room S204.

What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! In this 7-session Bible study, Priscilla redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God's invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city.

Women’s Study: When You Pray: A Study of Six Prayers in the Bible, by Kelly Minter, Jackie Hill Perry, Jen Wilkin, & Jennifer Rothschild. Led by Valerie Trautman and Anica Williams.

Cost: $15. Room S203.

Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it’s a struggle. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray.  In this 7-session study, join with six beloved Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.
