Mount Zion has been actively involved in missions since its inception over 155 years ago. Out history is rich in reaching out to those around us with the “Good News” of Jesus Christ. Through the Great Commission, God has called His people to go into the world and make disciples. In Acts 1:8, He defines the world for us.
At Mount Zion we focus our efforts in fulfilling the Great Commission in the following ways:
Experiencing God Through Worship
Believing the Church to be a family, we design worship that is a blend of older and newer music, speaking to all ages.
Building relationships and making Disciples through Small Groups
Believing people connect and grow best in the context of small groups, we offer a multiplicity of groups focusing on Bible Study, personal growth, and maturing as followers of Christ, with Sunday School serving as the foundational small group ministry.
Engaging in Ministry thorough Serving
Believing that every Christian should be actively involved in ministry, we provide opportunities to serve through the ministries of the church and in volunteer missions locally and around the world
In defining our scope of service, we find our answer in Acts 1:8-In Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth. We believe that the Great Commission coupled with Acts 1:8 give us both imperative and direction. We have developed a philosophy of engagement in service through going, praying, reaching and teaching, and building relationships whenever and wherever God would have us be involved.
How does God want you to be involved? Being part of an Acts 1:8 church is going to require something from all of us here at Mount Zion. Please take a few minutes to take the Spiritual Gifts Survey located under the FIT Tab in your CCB profile to see where you might be involved. Then, take the first step and pray for guidance as to where God would lead you to go. Find your place of service here on our campus, in our community or around the world.
